sale barn

WELCOME to our 5th ANNUAL ONLINE SALE. We are excited about what we have to offer this year. We feel this is our strongest set of cattle to date. With more producers calving later, calving more cows and/or working off the farm jobs, the need for do it yourself cattle is increasing. We no longer have time for dumb calves, that can’t get sucking poor udders that are dragging in the mud. We need Momma cows that are thrifty, who get out there and work for you, instead of the other way around. That is what we are producing here, good uddered, sound structured females, that go out and turn feed into red meat over and over again. Any of these bulls or females will help get you there.

We are continuing with the online format. We appreciate how busy beef producers are. Our intention is to allow potential buyers to view and purchase bulls from the comfort of their home and at their convenience. The sale will run for three days closing March 8th at 7pm. During that time you will be able to bid on any and all bulls that interest you.

Because of the online format, we guarantee all sight unseen purchases with a no questions asked return policy. Bid with confidence. But we do encourage you to visit the farm to view the cattle anytime.

Again this year, we will offer choice of our replacement pen. The heifers are grouped into pens of three and we are offering choice on each pen. The reserve is clearly marked based on how bad we want to keep them. These are front pasture cows in the making. Take one to improve your herd or take all seven and start a herd of your own. It is up to you.

Please contact us if you have any question. We invite all potential buyers to visit the farm to view the cattle anytime. WE WILL BE HOSTING AN OPEN HOUSE AT THE FARM ON SATURDAY MARCH 2nd, 2019 STARTING AT 1.  The coffee is always on!

JSJ Fred 18F is a fullblood bull that is very impressive in his makeup. Structurally correct, deep sided and clean fronted and POLLED! We are very happy with the calves we have gotten so far from his sire JSJ 23D, our resident homo polled Fullblood. This guy is carring a little extra birthweight, but take into consideration, his mother is probably the biggest cow on the farm.

JSJ Ferda Grlz 24F SELLING HALF INTEREST. This guy has been my favorite in the pen since birth. He was a little rip as a calf, sporting a moderate 84lbs birth weight and above breed average CE and BW EPD's. He was admired in the pasture all summer for his overall style. He was with us at show at AgEx, Agribition and on display at Ag Days. His dam is a moderate, beautifully uddered cow that is out of one of our top cow families. She herself was a finalist in the female futurity at Agribition. This bull will put style into your bull calves and put your herd into an expansion phase, as you will not be able to part with his daughters. The new Buyer will have that option of walking the bull every year after June 1st or alternating years with exclusive use of the bull. In this case the buyer will have the bull for the 2019 breeding season. We would also like to work with the new owner on the possibility of showing this young herd sire again this fall.

JSJ Frank 29F is a typical Crush calf. Big top, big rib and big foot. He is a favorite in the pen. Out of a solid 90J daughter Who put 2 bulls in McCoy Cattle's sale before we purchased her in 2014. She has gone on to raise a 2 bulls for our pen and one of my favorite second calvers that we showed as a heifer calf. To top it off he has an 82lbs birthweight, this guy should have enough calving ease to be used on heifers.

She has put daughters in our herd including JSJ 6B whose first calf is the dam of a bull in the sale (JSJ 13F). JSJ 6B's second calf sold last year in the sale to Fladeland Livestock and is now seeing herd sire duties at their place and ours. Her third calf was Maple Grove Gelbviehs selection at the National Sale in Regina. JSJ 27U herself produced our top JSJ Crush 8C calf last year that sold to the Kevin Visscher.

JSJ Flash 54F is a 50% Gelbvieh bull that just fought his way into the bull pen. Born a twin out of a Black Angus commercial cow, he was adopted by one of our purebred cows. All summer I caught myself admiring this calf, only to keep realizing that he wasn't actually a purebred. Then at weaning time he come across the scale as the 5th heaviest bull in the pen. So it was decided that we would offer him in our sale. If you like them dark red and good this guy will work well in your commercial program.

JSJ Felix 170F is sired by FRL Cody 60C , a bull we bought to add performance, and he has done a good job of it. Felix is the second youngest in the pen and does not show it. He is keeping up with bulls 3 months older tham him. We had to cull his dam this year after she got a piece of high tensile wire around her foot on pasture, which was very dissapointing as her first bull calf sold to Craig Bessant a couple years ago and her only heifer stayed in our herd.
